PC Board Transport System for Reflow Soldering (By Dover Soltec North America)
The recently introduced Dover Soltec Quantis SMT reflow soldering system incorporates an advanced PC board transport system to ensure optimum reflow processing results.The Quantis system offers several innovative features, including "the Gripper" PC board edge-holding system and Parallox precision rail parallelism control. The Gripper securely holds the PC board along the entire edge of two opposite sides during transport across the complete thermal processing profile.
The Parallox system ensures absolute parallelism of the transport rails through a system of four cross-shaft lead screws that guarantee accurate parallelism throughout the process tunnel.
For even temperature distribution across the board, the transport system employs elongated pins that keep the PC board away from conveyor rails, minimizing heat transfer from the rails and maintaining constant FC pressure over the full width of the PC boardÍs edge.
