Tom Glenn

Services Held for Industry Veteran Thomas Glenn

Chandler, Ariz.-Services were held in December for Thomas "Tom" Glenn, 65, a veteran of the IC packaging industry. Mr. Glenn died on December 16, after a courageous fight with cancer.

Mr. Glenn retired last year from Amkor Technology Inc., as vice president for advanced packaging technology, after more than 40 years in the semiconductor industry.

For the past five years, Mr. Glenn worked for Amkor, building its patent portfolio. Earlier, he worked at industry giants Burroughs, Fairchild, Harris Semiconductor, the former Indy Elec-tronics and Motorola.

Surviving him are his wife, Jeanice, two children and four grandchildren.

Douglas Dixon Joins Loctite Corp. in Key Solder Materials Position

Industry, Calif.-Douglas Dixon has joined Loctite Corp. as product manager for solder materials, responsible for driving the growth and profitably of the company's Multicore solders in North, South and Latin America.

In his earlier posts, he worked as a product manager at Universal Instru-ments and in application engineering at Speedline Technologies' CAMALOT Division. He holds a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from the University of Utah. [loctite.com]

GSI Lumonics Promotes Maher to Vice President

Wilmington, Mass.-Joseph A. Maher Jr. has been promoted to vice president of GSI Lumonics' Semicon-ductor and Electronics Circuit Trim business units from his post of general manager.

Maher, who joined the company last year as general manager in the Wilmington facility, retains the GM title, as well. Earlier he held executive posts at Asyst Automation and MKS Instruments. Maher earned an engineering degree from Northwestern University. [gsilumonics.com]

Friedemann Named Managing Director at Feinfocus GmbH

Garbsen, Germany-Dieter Friedemann has joined Feinfocus GmbH, a manufacturer of microfocus x-ray inspection equipment, as managing director of worldwide operations.

Most recently, he was managing director and strategic business unit manager at ABB Automation Products in Minden, Westfalia, Germany. Friedemann is a graduate of the Technical University in Braunschweig, Germany. [feinfocus.de]

Robert Million Establishes Rep Firm in N. California

San Carlos, Calif.-Robert Million, formerly marketing manager for Yamaichi Electronics USA, San Jose, has established his own rep firm, Million & Associates. Utica, N.Y.-Dr. Ning-Cheng Lee's new book, Reflow Soldering Processes and Troubleshooting: SMT, BGA, CSP and Flip Chip Technologies, has just been published by Newnes, an imprint of Butterworth-Heinemann Publishing Co. Yamaichi Electronics Appoints Cowell District Sales Manager

San Jose-Yamaichi Electronics USA recently appointed Brian Cowell district sales manager for the Chicago area. He reports to Al Muranaga, vice president of sales and marketing.

Prior to joining Yamaichi, he was a regional sales manager for Sanmina in Chicago. Cowell earned a bachelor's degree in marketing from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb. [yeu.com]

RD Automation Tags Keus for General Manager's Post

Piscataway, N.J.-Robert Keus has joined RD Automation as general manager, after four years at Teradyne Inc. in Bedford, Mass.

While at the ATE maker, Keus served as product marketing manager for the Integra Test Division. Earlier, he was product integration manager for Teradyne's Industrial Consumer Division. [rdautomation.com
