Gast Joins Interconnect Devices Inc. as Marketing Director

Kansas City, Kan. - Dave Gast has joined Interconnect Devices Inc./Synergetix as marketing director.

Most recently, Gast held a similar title at Mallinckrodt/Nellcor Puritan Bennett for the Sleep and Portable Ventilation business. He is a graduate of the University of Kansas with a bachelor's degree in journalism.[idinet.com]

James Healy Named an ASAT Senior Vice President

Fremont, Calif. - Jim Healy has been named senior vice president for worldwide sales and marketing at IC packaging foundry ASAT Inc.

Healy brings an extensive background in semiconductor test to the post, including stints as EVP and general manager at FormFactor Inc., Livermore, Calif.; president and CEO of Genus Corp., Sunnyvale, Calif.; president and CEO of Credence Systems Inc., Fremont, Calif.; and senior vice president and president of the LTX Trillium Division in San Jose.

	He also served for many years with Fairchild Semiconductor Corp. in Asia, Europe and the U.S. in various management posts. Healy has been a member of the Semiconductor Technical Advisory Committee for the Dept. of Commerce. He reports to Jerry Lee, CEO of ASAT Ltd., Hong Kong.[asat.com]

CAMALOT Promotes Overko to Sales Support Director

Haverhill, Mass. - Ron Overko has been promoted to sales support director for Speedline Technologies' CAMALOT division, reporting to David Hill, CAMALOT vice president and GM. Overko will manage sales engineering, customer applications and global sales order entry functions.

	Overko joined CAMALOT in 1994, serving as project manager and sales support manager. He holds a degree in chemistry with 25 years experience in process engineering, thick film material development and hybrid circuits. [camalot.com]

Andrews Resigns ITRI Post

Northbrook, Ill. - Marshall Andrews, CEO of the Interconnection Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Phoenix, has resigned his post to pursue other interests, ITRI sponsor IPC recently announced.

Jack Fisher, ITRI's chief technical officer will serve as interim CEO, while an ITRI nominating committee selects Andrews' successor.[ipc.org]

Kulicke & Soffa Creates Office of the President

Willow Grove, Pa. - Kulicke & Soffa Industries has created an office of the president and named two senior K&S executives to manage all company businesses worldwide.

Alexander A. Oscilowski and Morton K. Perchick have been appointed to the new office. They report to C. Scott Kulicke, CEO and chairman.

Perchick continues as executive vice president and Oscilowski has been promoted from vice president of strategic marketing to senior vice president.

Camdenton, Miss. - Azhar Qureshi has been named business unit manager of reflow products for Speedline Electrovert, a manufacturer of wave soldering systems.

Qureshi was formerly a production and engineering manager at Electrovert. He rejoined the company after spending four years with Specialty Coating Systems, another Speedline Technologies company.[speedline.com]

Brussels - John Myers has joined CS2 as key account director. He was formerly European Business Development Manager for Tessera.

Knight Promoted at Eastman

Kingsport, Tenn. - Dr. Jennifer Knight has been appointed business market manager for organic specialties at Eastman Chemical Co., a new post. Based in Kingsport, she is responsible for Eastman's polymer additives and chemical specialties (PACS) business, among other market segments, whose products include EastPure electronic chemicals, Aquarez polymers and specialty additives for polymers.

	Dr. Knight holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Tennessee (Knoxville) and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Massachusetts (Amherst). Most recently, she was Fibers Technology Department manager. [eastman.com]

Dennis Strittmatter Joins Kulicke & Soffa as Vice President

Willow Grove, Pa. - Dennis Strittmatter has joined Kulicke & Soffa Industries in the newly created post of vice president of e-business, reporting to Charlie Salmons, senior vice president.

	Strittmatter is responsible for developing and implementing the company's e-commerce strategy. He most recently served as senior vice president of life cycle services at Inacom Corp., Omaha, Neb. Black Appointed Juki CEO

Morrisville, N.C. - Robert Black Jr. has been appointed chairman and CEO of Juki Automation Systems, a supplier of assembly equipment.

Black founded Zevatech, the predecessor company to Juki Automation, in 1984 and served as its president until June 1988. He was a consultant until his recent appointment.[jas-smt.com]

Northbrook, Ill. - Ron Underwood, president and CEO of Circuit Center, Dayton, Ohio, has been named chairman of IPC-Association Connecting Electronics Industries. He replaces James Donaghy, Sheldahl chairman, who will continue as a member of the IPC board.

Underwood assumed his new IPC post at the IPC PC Expo, recently. He has been an active IPC member since 1979, served on the board since the early 1980s and was vice chairman for the past two years.[ipc.org]

Peabody, Mass. - Dr. Philip Canale has joined APS TechFilm, an affiliate of APS, as technical service manager.
