Intel's Dr. Yu Retires as Strategic Programs Chief

Santa Clara, Calif.-Dr. Albert Y.C. Yu, Intel senior vice president and strategic programs director has retired. Dr. Yu, 61, joined Intel in 1972 and held several senior management posts during his career.
Most recently, Dr. Yu was been responsible for driving Intel's strategy in the optoelectronics area. Yu received his doctorate in electrical engineering from Stanford University.
Dr. Yu, who was formerly with the Fairchild R&D lab, is also the author of An Insider's View of Intel (1995) and Creating the Digital Future (1998). [intel.com]
Advantest America Appoints Kushnick Design Center VP
Santa Clara, Calif.-Advantest America Inc. has appointed Eric Kushnick vice president of the Advantest America SoC Design Center. He reports to Nick Konidars, Advantest America's president and CEO.
Prior to joining Advantest, Kushnick was hardware engineering director at Credence Systems, Fremont, Calif. He received bachelor's and master's degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. [advantest.com]
Marcello Receives MIT's 1917 Lobdell Service Award
Cambridge, Mass.-Joseph W. Marcello of San Diego [jwm@alum.mit.edu], an assembly industry veteran, has been selected to receive the Harold E. Lobdell '17 Distinguished Service Award from MIT's alumni association.
Marcello will accept the award in Cambridge, during an annual alumni leadership conference. In the past, Marcello worked for Interlek/Dynetics as director of worldwide marketing and at Rosenthal (MetCeram), Fluor Corp. and Rockwell.
David Fitzgerald Named Sales Director for SEZ America
Phoenix-SEZ America, a supplier of wet wafer surface equipment, has named David Fitzgerald its new sales director. Most recently, he managed North American sales for NuTool.
Earlier, Fitzgerald held posts at several semiconductor equipment companies, including ASML and Ultratech Stepper. [sez.com]
